New Journal Article on Antisemitism in Jewish Sororities and Fraternities

I recently published “Jewish Fraternities and Sororities as Spaces of Resistance Against Antisemitism” with my colleague Dr. Kimberly R. Davis in the Georgia Journal of College Student Affairs. This initial research was supported by the Timothy J. Piazza Center for Fraternity & Sorority Research and Reform as part of its initial research initiative on antisemitism. In this article, we center Jewish undergraduate involvement in sororities and fraternities and nuance their religious and ethnic identities with its conflation with whiteness. We explore the historical ways in which Jewish college students experienced antitsemitism and how Jewish sororities and fraternities, while frequent targets of antisemitic violence, continue to be sites of resistance and education against these forms of hate.
