New Journal Article on Sustainability in Higher Education

I recently co-authored “An Exploration of Using Solar Photovoltaic Cells as a Sustainable Solution in Higher Education” in the Journal of Higher Education Politics & Economics with Dr. Tom Seng, Professor of Professional Practice in Energy (Texas Christian University). In this research article, we focus on sustainability in higher education. We present findings from a mixed-methods case study of a private midwestern college to explore the feasibility of using solar PV on a student union. We used quantitative fiscal analysis and qualitative interview data of stakeholders which both suggest that key decision-makers are intrigued by sustainability practices, but hampered by upfront costs or institutional politics.
