Research Article on Gen Z Sorority

Sometime ago I published another article about the nuances of Generation-Z sorority women. In this phenomenological qualitative study, we attempted to identify what matters to Generation-Z (Gen-Z) sorority women. They are interested in sisterhood and authenticity over the organizational identity and materialism. While these are aspirational values for undergraduate women seeking membership in National Panhellenic Council (NPC) sororities, this research suggests that Gen-Z women are intentionally seeking belonging and connectedness through the “sorority” experience. These are one of the few collegiate single-gendered spaces for women and we make recommendations for pratice for career development and leadership programming. The article is available open-access from the New York Journal of Student Affairs and was published with my colleague Dr. Kim Bullington (Old Dominion University) and a former graduate student Melissa Bidinger (Lindenwood University).
